Introducing the Ginger HOUR

And we're back! So it is official, the radio show is on starting this week. I will be on the air every week on Wednesdays from 10-11am. If you want to listen online visit http://www.umslradio.com/ and there is a link to listen. I haven't really decided on any format, I am more focused on playing some lesser known artists. I am open to suggestions and ideas for things to do on the show so if you have any, pass them on. I believe Bear is going to call into the show one day and give me a live report on his flight towards the moon.

On another point I haven't posted a blog recently because I am back on my 18 hour days and make every attempt to do absolutely nothing on the weekends. I did, however, want to talk about my recent trip to Weston, and one of the coolest bars I have ever been to. Yes, life is a great bar, the rest is just details. Anyways, the bar was originally a brewery, and is 3 stories underneath the ground. It was an extremely cool atmosphere, almost like drinking a black and tan in an Irish Castle with great live Gaelic music in the background. They also had some damn good cocktail concoctions, (TRY A BAILEYS IN COKE, trust me) Anyways, it was a great little town with some really unique and interesting stores for those interested in things other than drinking beer (if said people even exist) I posted a picture of the inside of the brewery.

Don't forget to tune into the show starting WED and give me some feedback....

I am the oldest College DJ ever!!!!!

That's correct everyone, this semester I will be a DJ at UMSL. I know its sad, but I think its fun so keep your damn comments to yourself. You can barely pick up the station once you are off campus, but you can listen online at http://www.umslradio.com/ and as soon as I know what days/times I will be on I will let everyone know.

I have yet to make a final decision on the show's name so let me know what you guys think, I was thinking either (THE GINGER HOUR) or (DJ DAYWALKER) I can't decide between the two, and I am open to new suggestions if they are funny.

As I said before, once I get the rest of the information about the show, I will let everyone know. Hope everyone had a great weekend, and abused their livers some more.

Runners knee and a new bike

So I have come to the conclusion that after playing sports most of my life, on top of 8 years of active duty in the Marine Corps my knees are shot. I love running, and I no longer strive for the 8 or 10 miles a day that I did while still in the service. Still it seems these last few months that after every run my knees consider it their duty to remind, through pain, that I am no longer 18.

Thank you knees, and will you also mention to my back and ankles that I got the memo? In my life I have broken my wrist, nose, ankle, collar bone, blown out a knee, had two ribs cracked, and still have two herniated discs in my back, and there isn't a joint on me that doesn't pop or crack with the slightest of movement.

So after a short run this morning, the pain further emphasized my desire to take up biking as a substitute for running. The main problem is I want a decent bike and after just a little amount of research I have realized that bikes are stupid expensive. Im out at least a grand for just an entry level respectable bike and homey just don't play that.

So stuck again, or at least until I can afford to drop that kind of money on something my parents paid like 30 bucks for when I was just a wee baby ginger. Im thinking about getting a yellow set of lance armstrong tights with one of those super aero-dynamic helmets, standing at the entrances of various walmarts, walgreens and ringing a bell for bike donations.
